Launch Long Sleeve Jersey

Sometimes you need the technical properties of a long sleeve road jersey, but if you're riding in the dirt, the skin-tight fit just won't do. If that predicament sounds familiar, the Pearl Izumi Launch Long Sleeve Jersey has exactly what you need. It's built from Pearl's breathable P.R.O. fabric, with a cut that splits the difference between a racing jersey and a comfortable t-shirt. Better yet, there's no unnecessary bells and whistles. All you get is a touch of warmth with an unrestricted range of motion -- just like it should be.

Pearl Izumi built the Launch jersey out of its venerable P.R.O. fabric. Why? Well, because of its excellent wicking properties. P.R.O. is a 92/8 blend of polyester and spandex, meaning that you receive plenty of controlled stretch in addition to the requisite breathability. Basically, it will transport perspiration away from your skin and transport it to the surface of the fabric. Once it gets there, the added surface area enables moisture to evaporate much faster than it would on the skin. The upshot to all of this is that you stay dry and cool, instead of hot and clammy.

When trying on the Launch, you'll notice that it features a semi-form fit cut. Basically, this means that the upper-torso and upper-arms have a loose, yet anatomic cut. As you get to the bottoms of the sleeves and torso, the cut relaxes, and becomes similar to your favorite long-sleeve t-shirt. Meanwhile, the tall collar fights off gusts of wind, while the 12-inch zipper enables you to quickly dump excess heat. And since you need a spot to keep your ride essentials, there's a zippered pocket, so said essentials will be there at the end of your ride.
