Every now and then, as I’m updating prices for gear I’ve reviewed, I come across a few things that happen to be selling well below the prices where you normally find them. Here are three of those deals out there now that you might want to consider and a set of links to recommended stores that have 25%-50% discounts on a range of current model components and clothing from brands whose gear and kit I’ve also reviewed and recommended.

Shimano Ultegra PD-R8000 SPD-SL Pedals

Shimano Ultegra PD-R8000 SPD-SL Pedals

I recommended these as the best road bike pedals for most road cycling enthusiasts. They perform well, suit the fit needs of most cyclists, are very durable and easy to maintain, and are very competitively priced.

While stores selling Shimano normally discount their gear, this deal is the biggest discount and the lowest price I’ve seen on these pedals after looking at their price at all of the US and UK online bike stores I trust.

 Zipp 303 NSW Wheelset

Zipp 303 NSW Wheelset

My pick as a Best Performer, the 303 NSW handles better, rolls better, climbs better, brakes better and deals with crosswinds better than every other all-around rim brake wheelset I and my fellow tester Nate have ridden.

These are sold at a 10% discount exclusively to In The Know Cycling readers by a UK-based store that ships throughout the UK (free) and Europe (for a small fee) and have an excellent TrustPilot customer satisfaction rating.

Stages Ultegra and Dura-Ace Power Meters

Stages Ultegra and Dura-Ace Powermeters

Stages was my backup recommendation to 4iiii for single crank-arm powermeters based on its normally slightly higher price.  They perform equally well, are both very reliable, and their precision is all most road cycling enthusiasts need for power-based training and riding.

When Shimano recently switched from Ultegra 6800 to 8000 and Dura-Ace 9000 to 9100 cranksets, Stages began attaching their powermeters to the new model crank arms and stopped making them on the earlier ones.

If you have an Ultegra 6800 or Dura-Ace 9000 crankset, you can now get the same model Stages crank arm powermeter at a big discount from this store that still carries them, well below the current 4iiii prices anywhere.

$400 (Ultegra) and $450 (Dura-Ace) here
